Bananas Foster

1 tablespoon butter OR margarine
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1-1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of ground nutmeg
3 firm bananas, peeled, halved and sliced lengthwise
1/4 cup Crown® Lily White® Corn Syrup
1 tablespoon rum OR banana liqueur, optional
Vanilla ice cream


Melt butter or margarine in a large skillet over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Add corn syrup when mixture begins to bubble; gently stir in bananas. Cook bananas for about 1 minute per side until hot. Remove from heat; add liqueur if desired. Serve immediately over ice cream.
