Caramel Apple Upside Down Cake
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/3 cup light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Crown Royal Corn Syrup
- 1 pinch salt
- 3 large apples, peeled & sliced
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Fleischmann’s Baking Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Fleischmann’s Baking Soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions
- To a skillet over medium heat melt together butter, sugar, corn syrup & salt until mixture begins to bubble.
- Pour mixture into an 9-inch round cake pan. Arrange the sliced apples over the caramel in a spiral pattern. Set aside as you prepare the cake.
- To a large mixing bowl whisk together butter, sugars, egg & vanilla until well combined.
- Sift in flour, baking powder, baking soda & salt.
- Slowly add the milk as you stir in the dry ingredients. Continue stirring until batter is smooth.
- Pour batter over the sliced apples.
- Bake at 350(f) degrees for 30 to 35 minutes, until the top bounces back to touch.
- Let cool for 15 minutes before carefully rotating onto a cake plate. Slice & serve!
