  • 1/2 cup butter (no substitutes)
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Fleischmann's® Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt


Christmas Sugar 'N Spice Cookies


  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Beat butter and sugar in a large bowl with an electric mixer on medium speed. Add egg and vanilla; beat well.
  3. Mix flour, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves and salt in a medium bowl. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture slowly and beat on low speed until a stiff dough forms. For easier handling, refrigerate for 1 hour.
  4. Roll dough out to 1/4-inch thickness on lightly floured surface and cut out shapes. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until browned. Frost and decorate with your favourite icings and sprinkles.
