Easy Baked Pasta Carbonara
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter OR margarine
- 1 cup diced ham OR cooked bacon
- 2 cups milk
- 1 tablespoon Fleischmann's® Corn Starch
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black fine grind pepper
- Pinch ground nutmeg
- 1/4 to 1/2 cup frozen peas
- 2/3 cup Parmesan cheese, divided
- 1/2 cup buttery cracker crumbs
- 1 tablespoon butter OR margarine
- 8 ounces penne pasta (OR other tubular pasta), cooked and drained

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Melt butter in large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add ham or bacon; cook, stirring, 1 to 2 minutes.
- Stir in milk, corn starch, salt, pepper and nutmeg; add peas. Bring to boil, stirring constantly for boil 1 minute. Remove from heat. Stir in 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese.
- Toss with cooked pasta. Pour into greased casserole dish. Top with remaining cheese. Stir cracker crumbs together with melted butter. Sprinkle crumb mixture over pasta.
- Bake 25 minutes or until golden.
