  • 2 tablespoons butter OR margarine
  • 1 cup diced ham OR cooked bacon
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon Fleischmann's® Corn Starch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black fine grind pepper
  • Pinch ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 to 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • 2/3 cup Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 1/2 cup buttery cracker crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon butter OR margarine
  • 8 ounces penne pasta (OR other tubular pasta), cooked and drained



  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Melt butter in large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add ham or bacon; cook, stirring, 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in milk, corn starch, salt, pepper and nutmeg; add peas. Bring to boil, stirring constantly for boil 1 minute. Remove from heat. Stir in 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese.
  4. Toss with cooked pasta. Pour into greased casserole dish. Top with remaining cheese. Stir cracker crumbs together with melted butter. Sprinkle crumb mixture over pasta.
  5. Bake 25 minutes or until golden.
