Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, loosely packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted & cooled
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup full-fat sour cream
  • 3 tablespoons apple cider
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons Fleischmann’s Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
  • 2 granny smith apples, peeled & finely diced
  • Vanilla glaze, to finish

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl whisk together brown sugar, butter, egg, vanilla, sour cream & apple cider until well combined.
  2. Sift in flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon & nutmeg. Stir until batter comes together. Fold in diced apples, cover & refrigerate dough until firm, about 2 hours.
  3. Drop dough in dollops onto a lined baking sheet & bake at 375(f) degrees until cooked throughout. Broil for a minute to get a golden brown finish.
  4. Brush generously with vanilla glaze, let cool to room temperature & enjoy!
