Instructions
- Heat milk and butter in microwave for 30-40 seconds. Temperature check to approx.120F.
- In a mixing bowl, combine dry ingredients, including Fleischmann’s Quick-Rise Plus, then add milk and butter. Stir with a wooden spoon until dough begins to form into a ball, then transfer to a clean, flour dusted counter.
- Knead by hand for 4-6 minutes, until dough becomes elastic. If you have a stand mixer with a dough hook, you can double the recipe if desired, and knead in the mixer for 2-3 minutes.
- Place in a bowl covered with plastic wrap or a clean dish towel and place under a light to rest(stovetop exhaust light or in oven with the heat off but light on) for approx. 10 minutes.
- Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll out flat.
- Spread with garlic butter and sprinkle with cheese, then slice into 2" strips. Stack a few strips and cut into 2" pieces, then gently layer sideways into a greased mini loaf pan. Cover and rise for 45 minutes.
- Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 375F. Sprinkle loaf with cheese or sea salt to taste and bake until a thermometer inserted reaches 210F, about 20-40 minutes (time will vary based on size of pan).
