  1. Preheat the oven to 350(f) degrees. Line one 8-inch square cake pan & one 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. Prepare the cake batter as directed. Evenly divide batter amongst the two prepared baking pans.
  3. Bake until golden & the top bounces back to touch, about 30 minutes. Let cool completely before removing from the pans.
  4. Transfer the square cake to a large serving tray, creating a diamond shape. Carefully slice the round cake in half & place each half with the square cake. This will create the heart.
  5. Prepare buttercream frosting as directed. Colour with red or pink food colouring. Transfer frosting to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
  6. Pipe small rosettes on the cake in even sizes, until the entire cake is covered with frosting.
  7. Finish with a generous amount of sprinkles. Slice & serve!
